AI Chatbots 101: A Gentle Intro
A friendly one-hour introduction to AI chatbots — no AI experience needed, and no question too basic. We cover what these tools can and can't do, how to get started, how to ask good questions, and, just as importantly, how to stay safe and protect your privacy. The session ends with a live demonstration using real, valuable tasks, and everyone leaves with simple take-home guides.Available as private individual or group sessions for libraries, senior centers, schools and other organizations.1 hour · In-Person · Beginner-Friendly · Greater Cincinnati area

Hosting a group class is simple. You provide a room with seating, a projector and screen, and Wi-Fi for the live demonstration. I bring everything else — the full presentation, the take-home handouts, and the expertise.
Your Instructor
Doug Strand, Ph.D.
Doug Strand, Ph.D., has studied and used generative AI chatbots since 2023, building an extensive research library on how accurate and safe they really are. His specialty is AI for health and medical questions, built on career experience improving the consumer experience in healthcare and health insurance. He is also putting his political science background to work, advocating for appropriate legislative restrictions on AI to better protect the public.
